    Stihl serial number lookup

Unfortunately the workshoppist Stihl serial number look up machine is no longer working. Nor is the Decoding Husqvarna serial number machine. Big pity as it was very handy and accurate. At least when checked against known purchase /build dates for saws I own.

    Stihl MS660 Questions

You're sure it's the carb? Got spark? Sometimes a coil will fail while just sitting. Did you squirt a bit of fuel down the carb? Or was it left sitting with fuel in it for 2 or 3 years? If the latter a bit of a clean up and a kit should solve it. Only takes 20 mins. It takes 10 minutes to fit a...

    STIHL MS261C chainsaw and TruFuel

I'm interested in the very common mention of these pre mixed fuels by blokes in North America. I've never seen it here (rural Australia) and my local Stihl and Husqvarna dealers don't stock it. Perhaps it's available for homeowner types in the cities who only use a litre or 2 per year but I...

Any Australian members interested in a Stihl 080

That's a 08s and those attachments are very desirable if complete. Probably worth as much as the saw

    Stihl 084 tonsil

Fellas, I'm doing some grinding on a 084 cylinder and thinking about the intake tonsil and what does it do. My 088 does not have one and the pistons are the same. Does anyone have experience with removing the thing or strong opinions on removal or retaining? Thanks in advance.

How to remove clutch if nut is stripped stihl 038

Yes, the 1119 series is bad for that. For the future grind the socket flat. For the present get a medium size chisel and hammer and a bit of heat and cool on the clutch threads
