when you replaced the coil was the plug lead included? possibly worn through and shorting out? Color of plug? is it not getting enough fuel? run without air filter, with out muffler. Gravity/bottle feed fuel. run in the dark and see if it is shorting out somewhere. try removing as many...

cool I have a 6400 that came from CT ;) and a 665 set up I think that would be a fun project. Did you port it too or just put the better top on it?

I feel like I am missing something here. The Dolmar has a 1mm shorter stroke so i understand that the base needs to be cut but don't understand the benefit of the Dolmar piston in the solo cylinder. must be the dimensions are different? do you have any pics side by side?

Is my Stihl FS111R running hot or not?

One thing I will mention if it is hot. The best thing is for it to idle. If it dies get it started asap and let it idle. If you use it continuously for a while. Let it idle 60 seconds before you shut it off. It fit is part load or light load it is not as big of an issue.

    Husky 162/272--Jonny 630/670 project thread.

What a great thread, I just read the whole thing. I am working on a 61 for a friend that was his Dads. He is interested in a full wrap. is the best way to look for a 372 wrap handle. is there a best place to get them? How about a clutch cover with the plastic flag. is there a best...

    Should i grind a 572.

when starting out porting we want to feel like we are making a difference porting what we can get too. Transfer flow is an easy thing to mess up. unless there are obvious ugly boogers in the transfers I don't think there is as much to gain as people think. I don't know the timing numbers on...

    Recommend me a gasket material

Great post, I use similar stuff from Napa. I have used that stuff on mufflers, it will work fine, I have never had an issue. but it helps to make sure the muffler is free flowing.... Depending on thickness and purpose I have used manilla folders, and brown paper bags for gaskets. I have also...

    Show off your muffler mods

I've never had a problem. you could also make sure the piston closed off the port if you are worried. a stopper or plug isn't a horrible idea. I have seen mud daubers get into some mufflers before but they were stock mufflers so nothing to do with the mod.
