I work CSX in Nashville and it seems like they get longer and heavier by the day. I understand trying to be efficient but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Thankfully technology is a big help to keeping operations safer even when trains are overweight / under powered.
It is absolutely wild that this has come up, but I’ve been working with a Knutson here in Nashville for the past couple of months who is from Michigan. I had never heard the name in my life until I met him and now it comes up on the Chainsaw forum. 🤯

I really don’t get nervous about storms but I was definitely a little on edge last night. It was wild. After getting blocked in I got really close to a locomotive so I could get in it if necessary. It was frustrating because the way home was away from the storm.
Good morning gents. Currently in a tornado warning with tornado sirens going off literally a tenth of a mile away in the little town im in and I’m blocked in the Bruceton railyard in my work truck. Blocked meaning all the gravel crossings have trains sitting across them. 😑

Well after four different tornado warnings it looks like we are beyond the dangerous part of the storm. It’s still severe thunderstorming, but the worst should be gone within an hour.
