I have a few videos on my YouTube cutting with converted rounds to HEXA exact same angles. I also have a video on how to make it until the files get here
I have other videos on there too. Check it out.
I posted these pics before but that’s my current grind for cutting timber. Soft wood I’m thinking about making my top plate angle a little more blunt around 18/20 degrees and give it a shot. But I do like a aggressive chain
We’ll I just have to use a single cut bit and diamond. Less aggressive then the double cut burr bits I was using so the cylinder’s I got can still be used.
I recently bought some meteor cylinder kits for some saws at work. I opened the box on a 044 and was cleaning up the intake port. It had a good lip on the bottom. Just a good burr bit. The same one I use on all my cylinders I have ported and boom two big chunks of platting popped off. Same with...
Has anyone used this or something like it? I think it would help. Or use reading glasses to see better? I have good eyes but to see the corner on a freshly dressed blue wheel can be hard to see.
Yup. I put some fine sand paper on a old credit card and worked it back and forth to open it up a touch. The .050 side was super tight. Does anyone else have a trick to open it up so it usable?
some great stuff being talked about!! one thing to measure is when you push your chain stop from side to side is it true and the same where it indexes the back of the tooth. I have mine adjusted so it wont move but still holds the left and right cutter and its perfectly 90* to the chain holder...
I did one chain that was newer and one that was short. I just adjusted the chain stop. What do you do. Will it change the angels the farther you push the tooth forward. I guess I would adjust the arm if it was hitting the tie strap but my short chain that I did was good. No tie strap hits.
I’ve posted these pics before but those are my settings. I’m running 25* on the top of the stone and 25* on the side angle of the stone. Running about 80 thousand thickness on my wheel for the side plate. Chain cuts real good in pine and fir. Chain is 36” full skip on a Stihl 661. That’s my...
Hey everyone. Let’s post some pics of the settings your running on your grinders?? And a pic of the cutter for comparison. Maybe talk about what it’s used for and how it cuts. It would be cool for a comparison.
