I have wondered about that second gasket for several years . And read everything I could get my eyes on. Missed that but I did learn to make the check valves for SDC carbs from older pump rubber diaphram and got a tool to take out brass seat for it. That high speed check valve will drive you crazy

I am rebuilding a PM 55 and piston is pinned but pins are both in intake port . Is this normal ? Had a broken ring and a wear spot on intake port edge.
