You’re right there,I can file a round chain with a $1.25 file in 10 minutes on the tailgate of my truck that will cut as fast or out cut as a lot of square chain that guys use.I’ve done this many times.

John makes a great chain for racing but he spends a lot of hours sharpening one.The Same chain would not be very good for working.

I have a Dolmar 7900,Husky 390 and Stihl 660 that are all ported and I think the Dolmar clears the best and Stihl the worst.If they start to jam up just raise up on the back of the saw and most of the time they will clean up.

I have beat a lot of square chain with round chain that took me 10 mins to file on the tailgate of my pickup but your not going to beat a good square race chain that takes 10 hrs to make.

If you order a lot of part I would tell them but if it's a once or twice a year thing I wouldn't worry about it.
