    IEL-Pioneer thread

From all the literature I have come across the RA was the last of the sand cast saws all made in Vancouver, all the saws made after the move to Peterborough were die cast made models with the Pioneer 600 being the carry over from the RA model, these were my first saws that I got to run and own...

    MS460 PTO Crank Seal Problems

Clamp off one end of the fuel line and apply vac or pressure on the opposite end, that will tell you if there is a leak, the line can stay in the saw, just need to remove the carb, clamp at the filter end. Hemostats work great for that, apply vac or pressure at the carb nipple end.

    MS460 PTO Crank Seal Problems

This chainsaw repair hobby can become a bit expensive when one needs to keep buying swap out parts just to try to overcome a running problem. Stihl 009L

If you have the time and patience to strip them down and try selling off the parts that may suite you, I don`t have the space or inclination to mess with them. Actually the 009 is a much better saw than any plastic fantastic saw ever sold, their oil pumps are a bit of a problem but I have fixed...

    Stihl 009L

People get all *b-wordy when I tell them I won`t work on them due to the cost outweighing the replacement of one. Last guy I had words with was adamant that I had fixed his friends Homelite and I should fix his Homelite that had a busted up recoil. When I told him his friends Homelite was a real...

    Stihl 009L

Three hundred for a plastic saw? That is about $250. more than any of them is worth, my trash pile has several in it, Poulan Woodsharks,Wild Things, those bright orange Homelite things with the yellow recoil handles, not worth the effort to repair them. I actually used to run over them with the...
