It sounds possible to use a carb from a 394. This is from AS. Snobdds isn't a member of OPE.

I made the mistake of trying to swap over the throttle/choke plates onto a 394xp carb without staking them… Screw right down the intake...

I think a 288 carb will also work, I had an aftermarket one I gave to @Sloughfoot for his 2100, can't remember if he was able to use it...
