If rapeseed oil works fine, any oil Will work, dont understand fixation of getting the ”best” bar oil.

Just run it with the fuel you intend to use and let it rip. No stock saw breaks from this. Stores just make sure it starts. It should be tuned from Stihl/Husqvarna.

Here all stihls in 3/8 063 gauge. I think Stihl has problems delivering some bars so they probably just mounts something else atm

Almost everything from both Stihl and Husqvarna is ran on Aspen here. No problems. Idk if the "canned" fuels are alkylate tho

50cc and 18" isnt a combo i'd run. A 60cc gets the 18" 3/8".

Pulled the cylinder just because. Cylinder looks completely fine, ring gap is fine and piston is also in like new shape. Ring looks like this. AM stuff is new to me due to only getting OEM stuff for customers or myself. Never had to really think when building stock saws. Hard to get it to focus.

I think the AM cylinder is the problem. Will try pull it next week and have a look.

May try to pull the cylinder. I dont have the tools to chech timing. And with the season starting i dont really have time or motivation to work on my own saws when i work 8 hours a day with others. And i dont own my own shop so i work on my own stuff after work.

This build is getting shelved. Done 3 heat cycles and lt has lost compression each time. Also four strokes at only 11800RPM.

Up and running. Need to tune the carb tho.

Clutch drum mounted, forgot the washer so cant install the clutch yet. Ordered a new muffler so on friday it will get to run

Same here. I run the piss out of my saws after rebuild or brand new. Have never had any failures
