    EAA Week

    Saw a similar flight at the Patuxent Naval Base air show after Desert Storm. They were carrier based aircraft. F14 Tomcat, F7F Tigercat, F6F Hellcat, F4F Wildcat. It was really a neat to see and hear! The old radial engines have a good exhaust note!

    I have used rotary converters before. The instructions that came with it states that, ” The manufactured phase is Not to be used with a magnetic contact switch “. Not sure if it’s the same for an electronic converter.

    I’ve heated the piston lightly with a propane torch or heat gun, if you don’t want to use flame, along with a good fitting punch.

    Nice work! I made a tail stock ram for my Clausing a long time ago. Used a small center drill in the Bridgeport with DRO, pecked the surface for the graduations, use small stamps for the numbers. Also needed a left hand acme tap for that too!

    These sockets have a spiral that only grips one way, usually for right hand thread removal. It would never grip a left hand thread to remove it but could tighten it.

    These do work well on right hand thread fasteners. Will not grab a left hand fasteners.
