Does the saw have a lot of hours on it? Many saws use C3 tolerance bearings, which have a little play from new. -
Just so happened to check the crank for play on my 266xp. Slight radial play. Time for bearings.

Just need to reassemble with the new parts and we're done.

Got tractor parts and replaced the starter ring gear. Pictures are of splitting it a couple days ago, classic torque limiter failure...
