It's the RPM's in the cut that count , excessive RPM's are what will often shorten the life of a saw .

Jim IIRC it's a RPM limited coil, and it's pretty low, like 12,800.

Don't bother porting or having your saw ported. You are not a chainsaw nut and only cut now and then; and a 590 is too big and heavy...

I agree op would be better off with a inverter. Probably cost effective too. Would be worth checking out.
