Anyone know if the Mahle slant fin cylinders used on the 10mm & 12mm saws are the same?.......They appear to be.

Bought this 044 slant fin cylinder in a parts lot, started cleaning it then noticed this chip in the plating at the base of the cylinder.....Is it still usable?

Gents, For the life of me I can't get this damn spring to fit correctly!.....Is the tang on the spring ment to fit into the recess on the saw as indicated by the red arrow? .

Old thread I know, but is there any way of paying for a year or two up front?

They are indeed!....It had me baffled!.....Was an assumption on my behalf that 4278 was actually wider base on the pics in this thread. Wonder why Stihl supplied me 4278 instead of 4275?

Here's the 4278 I was sold as a replacement for the original 4270.

@Gary Courtney Gary in this pic the 4278 'appears' to be wider than the 4275, is this actually the case?

So 4278 & 4275 should be the same width?

Call the dealer and bearing 4275 is available here and is ordered....Thanks to the members here for the correct info that the dealer couldn't be bothered to chase up!

Stepped / grooved / shoulder?....I don't really know what the proper name is?
