My attempt was a hybrid of a finger and bridge. I think Termite was thinking along the same lines.

I'm not sure I'd do it that way again though. It makes the uppers too big.

My next will be tighter/smaller uppers with something flipping them the bird close by.

Brian, one never knows what it may find in its mailbox one day ;)

I currently only have 6-262 OEM jugs at my disposal.

Yeah, I don't have a chainsaw problem....right.

Randy ported one of my 262's and I run it for the first time yesterday at tree farm. It was very impressive over my non-ported 262. It has more torque in heavy cut than non-ported. I ran my 346 that I rebuilt for first time also and it ran very good!

Basically shoot it to the intake side, purging as it goes ....I cannot prove it and I'm probably wrong ...but it sure runs good ...[emoji2]

That makes sense to me. And if it runs good, that's really all that matters.

I'd like to get a consensus here ... Thinking on old school woods porting my 262xp . U know , widening intake/ex , MM , squish , blending . Question ; If I grind those cute little fingers , without changing the port timing , will it see gains compared to no fingers ?

You have ran the saw. What more do you want out of it? Factory timing with increased compression and a good muffler mod is a great starting point. Widening the ports is not always necessary if looking at longevity of the saw. It's best to make small changes, and keep track of the gains. I think I have a extra muffler, you are welcome to it if you want to experiment with it.
