I have Facebook just for the marketplace. Its where i sell saws and find the deals on Stihls and other worthwhile saws plus any other junk i might see a use for. Also its "in person" deals which allows me to look over a saw before I hand any cash over.

We have all seen how easy it is for unscrupulous persons to outright steal from unsuspecting ones due to the ease of advertising and the distance between the advertiser and the customer who most of the time is on the losing end of the deal.

Your reputation should stay the same if you get rich or poor.
When money is more important to you in the short term it will define you in the long term.
Life can be unfair/hard how you deal with it defines us.

Some people take the easy way not the right way. Then they get all offended when no one helps them out.

Not long ago a person EARNED a reputation by hard work, honesty, etc

In the Information Age some/many/most (not all) of the reputations aren’t earned, they are CREATED by smart online manipulation like social media

Generally by the person benefiting from it or those who leech off that person’s fame and fortune

It’s a house of cards and doesn’t take much to bring it down as we have all too often seen

If it’s not real in the first place why care about it

When it all goes to *s-word you pull up stakes, move on, and start the cycle of lies all over again

An internet reputation can be recreated over and over, change the name change the game.

It's like I tell all the guys I work with and around, all you have is your name. It takes years to get a good reputation where your name gets around and instead of looking for work you have companies calling you because they want you on their jobs. It takes very little time to develop a bad name/rep where no one wants to work with you and when that happens good luck getting rid of it, people always remember the bad.
