So you're saying the wide ones are faster, just like wimmins?my guess is that the wide nose has more sprocket teeth which mean it would be faster?
I would agree with that . The tooth of the chain at the wide nose when buried is at less of an exaggerated angle through the woodAs said before the sprocket tip is an idler and has no affect on chain speed. It is easier to turn the chain around a larger radius so the wide nose has less resistance, probly could run the chain a hair looser too
