I wonder what the dealer did to set them up since he can't tune them. Did the dealer ever find out what was causing the problems after you had run them?

I'd be curious if there was some negligence on the dealer's part or if the supplier somehow had a bad batch somehow?

I

I wouldn't buy another 562 either if that happened to me. But there are thousands of 562s' out there running fine.

And thousands that had/have issues.

Stalling, bogging, bearing/and seal failures, air leaks(transfer cover orings pinched/ripped, from the factory and more on new or almost new saws. Numerous carb and coil revisions. They are a very nice running saw when you get a good one. Not knocking them, but you can not ignore the issues. Some here try to give the impression it is only a very small percent that have these issues.

The 562s may have their issues, but they are becoming more and more popular with the pro loggers here in hardwood country. They buy one of these saws knowing it's only gonna last about a year of full time use, doing work that was formerly done by a much bigger, more expensive 390 or 395.

MSRP for a 562 with 20" bar is $740, as opposed to 1100 for the 390, and 1250 for the 395.

That's quite a bit of money then. The 390 & 395 would last more than a year though wouldn't they?

Yes, they usually do, but after a year of use the plastics, handles, and other external stuff is so deteriorated that they want a new saw anyway! It seems like saws have a higher mortality rate when being used by hourly laborers also.

This 372 was carried out the door barely a month ago.

Here we got a lot off issues...with the Stihl lineup (362CM/441CM/661CM).

In our small area, all the 362 and 441 had carb replaced, twice for the 441 most of time. Any issues with the 560/562.

I'm not knocking either brand. Husky has screw issue but they're improving. They're still having some QC issues but are on the up swing. Stihl is going the other way from the looks of it and Dolmar is boringly good. I bought a 562 knowing it could have a problem and it did. 1 trip to a GREAT dealer and I have a saw that gets more run time than my 372xp or our (Dad and myself) 262xp. Dad favors the 262 and I favor the 562 but either of us will run either saw, smiling as we do so. If I had an 034 super-MS361 It would get the same treatment. I just don't like the feel of the 362 or Dolmar 6100.

That's $ 740 per year for 562 vs. $ 550 per year for a 2 year of full time use 390 vs. $ 625 per year for a 2 year 395... 562 is too expensive...

There are many other factors to consider also, such as extra productivity with the 562's fuel economy, and the fact that most customers get far more than a year of service from them.
