I donno, that TM 261 at the GTG looked like it may take some of those 346s on!
MS261CM is a total different animal from 026.
Ed Heard modified a latest series 261 recently for his hardwood logging and claims it out cuts a stock 395XP. Heard the same from a few other fellas that ran his 261.

This is a 365 that was “rebuilt”. Owner had his grandpa rebuild after being straight gassed. Ran a couple tanks through it...stopped again. Had grandpa do it again....
Told the owner, before he runs it much more, let me take a quick looksy...

Not looking so hot......

But my grandpa “honed” it

It should clean up...and a new piston should get it back in service.

I’ll believe it when I see it.
Yeah same here too. But I do know Ed Heard aka EHP is one of the best full race saw builders out there. He knows his stuff and builds saws and chains for years that enter the Stihl Timbersports and Hayward Wisconsin Worlds.

I got a stock 2017 MS261CM thats nicely broke in with only a muff mod and it surprises me for a 50cc saw.
Still have my 346XP NE and it sits as backup.
Sold my brand new '16 550XP after the 261 broke in.
