The stock decomp on a 562 has the same problem as the stihl decomps... when more compression is added the valve pops out too easily. Plugging or not using the decomp is one way to resolve this, but it is harder on the recoil assembly. Some drill the holes on the original valve. I decided to do what some were doing on stihl’s and use a new Oem 372/385/395 decomp. Same thread size and length but the holes for releasing the pressure are larger... great for ported saw with higher compression. It does not pop halfway through pulling it anymore either. That’s what I use and any of my builds needing a big decomp. I usually drill the 2 holes out even bigger than the factory does on the 395 decomp. I just order 5-10 at a time. I find that they pop mid cycle with the oem sized holes once one gets into the 200+psi range on a saw over 70cc.

That is great to know, how does one attempt to drill one out without fubarring it? Just curious.

Thats not some, that hoarding!!
Nice!!

It wasn't on purpose...it sort of just happened. I set out to have the 64/7910 and then a 6100.

The 630 caught me off guard, then two 6100's popped out of the woodwork. I was weak dot dot dot.

Better point that out to me,,, not sure what it is.
Looking in the fuel tank towards the oil tank up at the top. There is a little divider plate that's notorious for falling out. It's a pita to fix. Hopefully it's been done, or low enough hours to not need it yet. Here is a pic on a older case just to show what your looking at.

I see some JB type stuff in there, sort of below the oil fill hole .

Good deal then it has been fixed then. Usually to fix it right you need to split the cases. That's a very nice saw you got. Have you ran it yet?
Just cut a fir cant off ,, the bar and chain were nasty and I have gas cap shrinking.
Took five pulls to fire, was sitting for a few years, gas wasnt rotten in it.
I have now moved the dogs off the chain brake on to the body.
Did some cleaning.
Sharpened the chain and dressed the bar.

Is the gas cap to tight or to small? If it's to tight throw it in a zip lock bag, and put it in the freezer for a few days. That trick works every time.

I picked up this 391 last month, looked like it might have been straight gassed...cylinder cleaned up very nicely using Randy's acid less technique. I thought I might as well give it a good cleaning.

I was able to get an OEM piston/rings/wrist pin/clips and put this one back together today. The only Stihl bar I have on hand is this well used 20" one.
