My buddy has a 372 and 576, and cuts firewood with both. He says he usually reaches for the 576 first, and then switches when the chain starts getting dull.

Speaking of which, he just dropped a Homelite 360 off at my house. I haven't gotten into it yet, but he's saying it has fuel, but won't fire. Do these things have the unobtanium coil setup from Homelite?

Yep they are a pain to check for fire and hard to find the transformer if bad.

Good runner. Did it get too hot for hair?

As the great @Jon1212 says In God we trust, all others pay cash.
My new business policy.
In no one I trust.
EVERYONE pays cash or USPS money order cleared before release of goods or services completed.

My bench has nothing on it. No bench, yet.

Doing a FINN T90 over-center clutch. Pressed on hub with a lock nut castle washer center, pressed on sealed pilot bearing and a true one piece shaft. No the nine inch impeller is not removable from the shaft. One of one design. Has one center case bearing in front of the packing gland, behind the throughout bearing in the volute case. The whole pump unit comes out for repairs. Simple but very different from your average power drive pump or clutch. I can see how these get screwed up being repaired. The replacement clutch unit is adjustable :campeon:

7 vs 8 is hard to believe

Differences more than one would think.

It is much more of a jump than eight to nine imo. Can we get some gurus maths on it? Curious about the percentage of drive speed not the diameter increase. Hope that made sense.

The interesting one to me was going from seven to six on non pro sprocket drives. Under fifty CC it is a big help with longer bars.

The 7 pin is diameter of 35 MM
The 8 pin is diameter of 40 MM

Let's use a 372 XT as an example. It's rated (per Husky) at 3.8 N*M of torque

The force exerted (Newtons) would be 3.8 N*M divided by the radius of the rim.

3.8 / .0175 = 217 Newtons of force exerted on the chain
3.8 / .020 = 190 Newtons of force exerted on the chain

That's a 12.4 % decrease in force exerted on the chain. However, the chain is spinning faster by about the same ratio, so it's all a balance.

It’s crazy how an under 10hp saw(probably but not sure) need more exhaust opening than a 55hp 350cc two stroke tuned pipe motor, in fairness the exhaust port is at the pipe it 2” and the expansion chamber can deal with a lot of peak pressure....still have a lot to learn!! The other thing “pipe guys” have always said is the smaller choke point helps with high rpm but creates more heat

Piped saws are much different ........... heck the exit for a 120cc piped saw is smaller than just one of the ones I posted

7 tooth vs 8 tooth
8 tooth spins the chain 14.3% faster ..............
