Glad I pulled the muffler to muffler mod the 590 yesterday. 140psi and ran fine. Guess I should have pulled that muffler right after buying and pulled thise plastic stops on carb sooner. Was running lean if I recall right when I first got it and backed it to the stop to richen up.
Just pulled the stops over weekend for testing gtg and then muffler yesterday for muffler mod.
Domed piston.

Funny how something like that can run good and I’ve been worried about a tiny carbon smear

I had a test saw out for 5 years with a firewood cutter. 353 that had a scored piston pretty bad. Cleaned up piston best I could and cleaned up groove and new ring. Cylinder cleaned up good.

When it came back in this years was still pulling 130psi and piston looked horrible. But she ran good.

Was just to prove chainsaws dont have to be perfect.

5 year ago pic before going back in test saw and then when came back still running and 130psi.

Doing this build with Noah. It’s going to be his saw. It is a case swap. The old case was chewed up along with the Oiler.
