Last week starting on Thursday night we were in for 3 waves of snow.
Friday morning I fired up the snow blower... About 1/2 way thru my driveway the snow blower stopped dead in its tracks.
The motor was running, the blower still turning, yet no forward or reverse movement...
Pushed it back into the garage and discovered the drive engage cable snapped.
These are the cheep, plastic coated, cables...

Looking thru my supplies I discovered I used all my cable crimp ties on the attic lift..
As I continue to look for another method of getting this going I realize I have some copper crimp O-rings, Oh what's the worst that can happen...

I grab 2 of them and crimped them over the broken sections of cable.... Low and behold, it WORKED!!
Managed to get all 3 days of snow blowing done...

Thought I would pass this on to anyone finding themselves in such a spot.

Picked up a nice, clean 026 Pro yesterday. Put some fresh gas in and it started well. Needed the airfilter to be cleaned. Has the WT426 carb, original 16” bar (and possibly chain....dull RM). Cylinder and piston look real nice through the exhaust. Tearing it down to see if it’s all good. F4428925-CCCA-49CF-9C31-448ECD511F32.jpeg

Had to fix a 460 case. A buy off of AS with more issues than the seller honestly knew about. Dirty girl.

All ported up for a machined 272 piston. Muff modded with @Red97 deflector.

I give a lot of credit to guys like @srcarr52 for their mag welding. I generally have to grind off more than 50% of what I layed down, and seeing the puddle is nearly impossible vs. doing aluminum.

Don't feel bad, I end up grinding a lot off too. It's just part of the game when doing build ups, better to have more weld than not enough. Also Stihl cases are inherently dirty, keep a stainless steel wire brush at your weld station and brush the area whenever it looks dirty.
