Trust me I wish they weighed what the paper specs say. Look at the paper specs on 385 15.4lbs and 390 15.6lbs. ;) Nope way off again. ;)

Look at the paper specs on the OE 346. Nope they missed that one too. ;)

At the risk of getting mauled by other members who have heard my recommendations far too often, YES!!!

I have both a 10 mm 044 and a MS440, and both run very well. My recommendations: HD-2 Air Filter, DP Muff cover (or muff mod), timing advance (.020 off the key) and delete the base gasket (usually results in .020 squish).

You will end up with a light weight saw (about 14 lbs) that will out run most non ported MS460s. IMO, they are one of the best power heads for a 20" bar saw, especially if you are not going to port it.

hell yeah.

Don't see too many of these. This one has some scoring. By the looks of the filter and chain I suspect it was overheated.

Hopefully that nla intake boot didn't crap out.

I have seen both manufacturers change the published weight on the same saw. I believe the 562 went from 12.8 to 13.2.

I have also seen Stihl post a weight for the 044 of 13 lbs, which I just don't believe.

Unfortunately, Magnum Stickers and lighter than real published weights see product!

I wonder if some manufactures take the dogs off when weighing the saw for the specs? I know they went from 5 to 6 screw cases on the 562, might have contributed to them changing specs.

Had to fix a 460 case. A buy off of AS with more issues than the seller honestly knew about. Dirty girl.

All ported up for a machined 272 piston. Muff modded with @Red97 deflector.

I give a lot of credit to guys like @srcarr52 for their mag welding. I generally have to grind off more than 50% of what I layed down, and seeing the puddle is nearly impossible vs. doing aluminum.
