I’m going to change the direction here, if I never hear “stratton” again, it will be too soon.

Put together the 066 that’s been cluttering up muh bench for a while.

Already swapped bearings, seals, and case gasket.
The Mahle decomp, after machining and porting came in at 100/120/78 with 0.017 squish. Advanced the keyway 0.024 and have her ready for firing. Have to find a muffler and air filter mount, then she will be ready for tuning and testing.

Threw my favorite torture/test rim on her (404-8) so after I weld up another @Red97 deflector, its “game on” in the frozen wood !!

I’m hoping to get a video and get this big guy back to her owner asap. My job conspires against my play time during the week, especially with snow coming......... it looks like I’ll probably have to wait to weld the muffler this weekend........ who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and be able to wrap this build up and get her sent before the weekend comes.

The numbers were selected because of the part time milling duties she will see.

I have a 372XP that's been apart for quite awhile because of cold weather and working on others' saws first. I bought the saw last Summer and hope to get it running maybe next Summer..

Yep......that's about how it works for me too. I've got a shed full of my project saws that never see the light of day.

Yep, I've worked on several saws since I brought that one in. The prior owner said the engine was stuck, awfully glad when I found out it was only the starter that was bad..It did have a stuck compression release or full of carbon which I'll have to correct.

Sounds like you got a deal.

its oogly... but she starts nice

problem is, these darn things take SO much effort to put together. every part / piece needs to be adjusted or fixed or whatever along the way. if you drop the jug, you need to adjust the carb base and the baffle to compensate...AND the top cover decomp hole needs to be reamed out. so many little things that need to happen to get something that functions.

that said.... it starts nice, and is headed off to the west coast asap :)
