Actually red armor doesn't give me headache's like husky or stihl or other oils do.
Here's a ft 372 big bore 3 year's 50/1 stihl orange bottle
With the right tune it's all good.

View attachment 98820 Should be sufficient muffler opening for ported 385 lol. Also changed out the stock .56 jet in carb for a .64 off a junk 395 tillotson I had laying around. Should feed it better under load.

I did a couple of 346s that way for a friend those are his favorite saw's.
I told him if he didn't like them i would braze them back together.
But he's happy with them.

Finally got some time today to get back into that 1990 262 K&S. All cleaned up and fresh crosshatch. Fired off shortly after.

Just to update you folks who I have told over and over 262 do not impress me. Well Guess it is only the mahle and 120 saws that do not impress now.

I must say with only 5 mins of test cutting this 262 impressed me. Not anywhere close to a broke in saw. Just rebuilt with new ring and new crosshatching.
Never said that with the mahle cylinder and 120 carbed 262's.
But this one has K&S cylinder and the bigger 87 carb.
Sounds like a mad hornet in the cuts. All stock notta done, screen and gaskets all still in, no mm etc.
Will be hard to let this one go.

Fixing up a Simplicity Conquest. Was leaking oil. Turned out to be a goofed up dip stick oring. Installed an oil cooler while I was at it.

FINALLY!!! It's red and it's shiny! I sprayed about 4 gallons of epoxy and polyurethane on Saturday. This week will be final assembly. Surgery is next Monday morning. I'm going to make it!
