Anyone here have a Stihl 25" 3002 84 88 etc bar they could get a measurement for me? I used to use the wide nose ones. But guessing the nose was only difference.

From the bar tip 20" back to middle then mesure across to see how wide there. Trying to compare to the 3003. I am thinking the 3002 bars were wider there. Used to cut them down way back. But no 3002 bars on hand.

Pic just for attention using a 36" at a gtg one year.

The 198 conversion runs the best I believe.

Jeff go some anomaly of an 87, his tunes perfectly.

Next on the block for me will be the 199 conversion with the accelerator pump. I’m wondering just how snappy a good 262 will be that way.

I finally had to concede defeat, as every hda 198 1 carb I found to buy, I would end up with the money sent back, as the advertisements were not updated to reflect it not being in stock any longer. :(

Testing out the 550 mark II splitter on another class saw, ie, 357:

Using the weak M4 generator bolts, well, gotta be honest, this new splitter Husqvarna has develop, gone ruin many crankcases to those who just torque without using a hammer to free up the crank. Has to be done often because those M4 bolts ain't gone hold that much.

But, the generator dimention is the same on 346, 353, 357, 359, 545, 550, 555, 560, 562.

I did bring some of the new 3/8 low pro X-Cut chain. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Just got here yesterday and the training focus was on rigging.

What is interesting is this is classified as “low kickback” chain. It has small humps like newer Stihl green chain. I’ll have to do some timed cuts and see if they have made a safety chain that cuts as well as 63PM.
