Not on the bench but made a plate target for my brother in law. Nothing fancy just what I had around for scrap and stuff.

Then did a timing advance on the 575. Have the muffler off to get gutted next.

That poor bench. I really need to clean it off again. Been a while!

So most everyone knows the 575 and the majority of the baffled mufflers suck to mod. The simplest that I have come up with is..........

Cut the original outlet off all together. Make sure you don't remove the screen retainer portion.

You can now gut it pretty easily straight through.

And now you can use the original screw for the spark screen to hold your new defector in place while you braze or tig it.

That's todays handy tip. And if you already cut too far/ too much. A zip screw will do the same thing. But I'm sure most you guys have been doing this for years.

I'll have to get this one done at lunch on monday.

Husqvarna 55 found in local dump,p/c scored but cylinder cleaned up pretty good, missing flywheel, flywheel side cover ,top cover. Overall in very nice shape, doesn't look to have been used much at all. Gonna put it back in working order, but I'm gonna find nice covers for it since it's in such good shape.

New never gassed. Purchased about 6 weeks ago. Ported the saw and it didn’t run all out like it should have. Hooked up the saw to the service tool and there were 7 firmware updates for it. Went straight back to the wood and it was significantly better.

Tricking out a Ruger AR-556 platform for my son, who will be home soon, after four years of F/A-18 Super Hornet flight deck work, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. That’s a bad ass lifestyle, 16-18 hr days, most times seven days a week. This ol’ Jarhead is proud as hell of that young man!

Got the AR situated in the gun case, tomorrow I’ll get the other five Magpul, Gen 3/Gen 4 mags (two more 30’s, and three 20’s). Also putting a 6-9” bipod on the front hand guards. Vortex Spitfire sitting on top of it. Also got him a Caldwell TAC-30 speed loader. We’ll see how the layout happens with the mag’s, lay ‘em out vertical, on edge to maximize space...if the TAC-30 don’t fit, no biggie...he can simply tote it with other things in a range bag.
