Thursday was my wife's birthday. I was out of town, so I fixed one of her favorites today.

I steamed a few pounds of King Crab legs. When I fix these, we just stand at the island in the kitchen, with a bowl of melted butter and chow down.
They're damn good.

In a bit, we'll be having a piece of Lemon Cheesecake that she baked earlier today.

Here’s what we are having for breakfast tomorrow image.jpgOur neighbors gave us one last summer to try and it is delicious. I asked them to buy one today and they just gave us one so I will have to make them something in return. They are great people.

Chunk of prime rib, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and my lady's homemade macaroni and cheese. Awesome!

It was cold, windy and raining today, so I did a couple strip steaks in a cast iron skillet on the stove, instead of on the grill.
I dredged the room temp steaks in melted butter and coated them with Paul Prudhomes Blackened steak magic seasoning before dropping in a 550 degree skillet. Five minutes on each side, to set a good crust, then finished in the oven to med/rare.
Served with some crumbled Blue Cheese on top, they were great.
I forgot to take pics.

Last night, scarfed down a whole lemon/pepper rotisserie bird, couple of sides I made...washed down with about a gal of milk.

I need to chit or get off the pot and get back over here in this thread and the Smoking/Grilling thread...been missing way too many grocery pics and good eats!

Tri tip on the grill. Asparagus and a baked Gold Potato with all the garbage.
It didn't suck.

Med/rare dry aged strip steak on the grill with a little blue cheese. Sautéed some baby gold, red and blue potatos and baked some Brussels sprouts. The steak was excellent, the Potatos very good and the sprouts inedible. My wife looked at the sprouts and said; I'm not eating that $hit and she was right.
Oh well......two out of three ain't bad.
Frozen Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies and another big glass of milk for dessert.
