Getting ready to replace my 30 year saw with another 30 year saw, and they are both nasty. What to clean innards with? Gunk from Walmart and a hose? Kerosine and air? I've got lots of brushes, what's best and safe for the saw.

I use a nonflammable wd-40 equivalent and some air. Of course use your safety squints while blasting with air.

I can tell you NOT to use brake cleaner (bad to breath when burned too). I do use carb cleaner to do cleanups some times since it is suppose to not attack rubber/seals. I use the purple wax and grease remover mixed with window cleaner for a variety of things.
