Had a very few dead leaves on it. Thought it was a catalpa but am having second thoughts. These are 3’ rounds. Stuff requires a wedge for first split. Cant identify the smell; seems to change with every stick. Thanks

Looks a bit like what we call siberian elm here, not sure if it grows that far south. What did the leaves look like?

Could be a lot of different trees. It looks spalted like my maples here. Looks a lot like it. Pics soon. I have two kinds going now:)

I was thinking Cherry ... we have some around here called Choke Cherries that can get pretty thick.

I picked ash because of it being dead and the emerald ash borer that's killing them
