I remember you posting about those before, and I WILL be taking you up on that once a I get a bit of time, and heal up from a pending shoulder surgery. I did just plunk the $$$ for a friend's 90-95% condition IMI Desert Eagle 50, w/original box and paperwork, 400 rounds, dies and components to load 600 more for $1200. Not a bad deal! I've already shot it, and was ringing 6" steel plates at 40 yards pretty easily... It makes me giggle like a child shooting it! I should have it in the next couple of weeks.
Not a bad deal?
That's a Smokin deal, especially with components for 1k rds of .50AE!
Desert Eagles are the epitome of over the top, in an autoloader and the .50AE, is a big ole can of whoop-ass.

The only 10mm I've shot was in a Glock 20. I'm not fond of the glock grip, nor the slopp(ier) tolerances which promote good functioning. BUT, I did shoot it quite well and the recoil was surprisingly mild, given that I was shooting a mixture of Buffalo Bore, CorBon and handloaded ammo. I'd really like to try it out of a decent 1911, or full-sized Sig Sauer, but if my late friend's Widow still owns the gun, I ma buy it off of her, simply because it was His, and I would think of Him every-time I shot it.

I shot my Ruger 10mm side by side with a friends G20. The Ruger felt better and I shot it more accurately but the Glock had less felt recoil.
At some point, I'll get a G40 long slide.

I spent a little over an hour today shooting the G43 along side the G19.
I was pleasantly surprised with the G43. Although the trigger is a bit heavy, at 5lbs 3oz, I was still able to hit a 10" steel plate at 15yds with consistency from a defensive draw. Double taps were not as easy and I think the few I was able to accomplish, were luck.
I use a 10" plate at 15yds, because I figure (hope) that's the max distance I'll be using a defensive weapon and 10" is a good representation of a center mass hit.
I was able to hit a 12" plate at 40yds without a lot of trouble but it took more time to make the shot.
Recoil didn't affect my grip near as much as I expected and the G43 didn't want to squirt out of my hand, like my G27 did.
The G19 was easier to shoot and quicker on follow up shots but that's to be expected. The G19 also has a 3.5lb trigger, which certainly helps.
I'll drop the trigger pull on the G43 to 3.5lbs and put an extension on the magazine without one but other than that, the gun is fine as it is.
It might get night sites at some point.
The G43 is a keeper.

Well, I just layawayed a stainless Taurus 856 .38 today. The fun store has them on special for $240.00 right now and I've been wanting one for a long time now. This is the steel frame version which has some weight to it, hopefully it will like the same loads i feed my S&W 10-5 and Ruger Service Six.
Did you ever get your 856? I just saw they are offering a 3" version. I think this one just made it to the top of the want list!Screenshot_2020-01-28-10-48-45.png

My one gripe about my Glock 42 is that the trigger has never even come close to my other Glock pistols. Did the polish job, tried the OEM minus and Ghost Edge connectors, and have squirted around 2000 rounds down the tube since I bought it in 2015. It is still heavy although it has gotten better with use. The overall awesome factor of this pistol is so high that I can live with the trigger pull and actually shoot it pretty well.

I was planning on doing the same thing you did, polish job and ghost connector.
Like you said, even with a heavy trigger the gun is still awesome.

I examined a new 42 and 43 at the fun store today. The trigger pull on both feels the same as my well used 42 with Ghost Edge connector. I go back and forth about whether to get a 43. I already have a 26, so all I would gain is slightly less weight and a thinner profile. Probably will end up getting a second 42 at some point.

I find the G43 a lot easier to shoot than a G27. The G27 wants to squirt out of my hand, even with a mag extension. I gave mine to my oldest son.

The size and weight is awesome. It is easily concealable and ya dont even notice the weight of it. I normally conceal a smith model 19 2” 357, and the hellcat is even more comfy. I forget its there. It fits the hand perfectly, has an awesome grip texture, great sights, is surprisingly accurate, very manageable recoil for follow up shots, holds twice the ammo of the comparable glock 43, nice crisp trigger/reset, no typical springfield backstrap safety, super easy breakdown and cleaning... gotta say i have yet to find any complaints about it. Pretty happy! i think springfield hit a homer with this one and reset the bar for micro compacts. Check one out if you are in the market for a new pocket pal!

Awesome gun!
Thinking about one of those myself.
BTW...settle an argument for me, a friend of mine thinks a 6 shot .38 special shooting hollow points will be more effective against a coyote within 10-15 yards as opposed to a sub-compact 9 mm firing hollow points or FMJ.
I don't think so based on ballistics among other factors....

Whats your thoughts or experiences?

I believe it is all in preference.
What the shooter is comfortable with. Me I prefer 9mm
