I was an iron worker like deets out of local 512, then took a job at an iron mine to be close to home after getting married and having kids. Now I rebuild 28 and 35 yard buckets for the ore shovels.

Nope, they got us some inflatable shoring a few years ago after the union complained. It’s a joke for the kind of holes we dig.

This is what we got.

FFS! My buddy works for city water here and if no box is available the no digging. They let mains go for a day before. Of course there's like 120000 people here so I bet the department is alot bigger than y'alls

We’re a Municipality we’re not under OSHA.......

I posted the good angles of that hole..
Understood. Still........you could get dead pretty damn quickly in either of those holes. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
Several years ago, I witnessed a trench rescue, that turned into a recovery. It left quite an impression.

Holy $hit!!!
The head of your public works department should be fired.
He's going to get someone killed.
I saved that picture. I'm going to send it to one of our safety guys. I'm sure it'll end up in a safety presentation.

Replacing an evaporator in a 2015 Chevy Tahoe, no fun. Compressor blew up sending metal through the whole system. Had to replace everything in the a/c system, 36 hours worth of Mitchell quote time.

Seen a few compressors locked up but I believe this one was probably rattling long before it locked up. If it hadn't got metal into everything it wouldn't have been so bad. This one has rear air also. Had to replace all rubber lines, condenser, both evaporators, compressor and expansion valves. Been on it almost three day, will finish it up this evening.

On the 3/4 tons with the Diesel, they make it even more fun by making the bolt coming in from the firewall side to the HVAC case about 1/16" from the turbo downpipe. I used many words on that bolt. I don't recall what they pay under warranty (I'm a GM dealer tech).
