No its a 2 stroke. It doesn't really matter which way you skin it. You see the spreadsheet I used did intake opening after bottom dead center, which is the same as intake closing before bottom dead center. So if you subtract that from 180 it'll give you the numbers in relation to TDC. Intake opening 75deg before TDC and closing 75deg after. Which gives 45deg of crank rotation between the intake closing and the transfers opening. I could probably get a touch more top end if I moved to 80deg atdc for closing. I might do that the next time I have the jug off.

I do have the quad transfers version of this jug on the way from China, along with the high top version of the plastics also. I want to get some cutting time on it before I touch that jug to see if taking 19deg worth of transfer timing on the piston only makes it pattern funny.

I added the side chain adjuster the plastics were already cut for it. Here's what it looks like, if you cant figure out how it comes apart go back in the house, your disgracing your garage.

I'm still trying to figure out a bar and chain for this damn thing. The D009 mount wants a 71DL chain. The D179 mout wants a 69 DL chain. Should I maybe cut down a D009 mount so I can run a 70DL chain on it? Is there something I'm missing?

Also, turned the saw off in cut and pulled the plug. Clean on one side, dark and crusty on the other, gray brown on the porcelain.

7D4C5439-27CF-40EF-9674-D591D7B49DCA.png I guess that plug is hot, as you wearing dem gloves

I’m guessing the plug is indexed not in the best orientation , same as my 036. My 461 has a good orientated plug.

fat (rich) is better than lean, is it 4stroking, I’ve learnt my lesson(s) in lean seizing, I’m still finding it hard to hear 4stroking. And as said by someone else fuel produces power. If combusted correctly

Yup plug is hot, I literally buried the saw in the wood and hit the off switch at wfo.

You want it indexed so the ground strap faces up or down? I've got spark plug washers.

It's 4 stroking but it sounds funny sometimes kind of like it gets weak spark sometimes rather than 4 stroke. Running over 14k is probably pushing this china coil to its limit.

Good to know on the timing aspect. My soot goes all the way up, got to shave the flywheel key I guess.

It’s good to see all of the good, better and best pic's which means there’s a lot of good mixes, but. Equally there’s a lot of ok mixes and bad mixes...as well...

And always better to get a few opinions.……that’s why we’re here …isn’t it :).

I posted in the saw video thread, I guess I could post it here too. Cuts pretty fast for a round filed lgx .325 chain. It'll be faster once I figure out how to get 3/8 on it without having to make a non-standard size chain.

*Thanks to whoever moved this out of the technical sub.

a 20" D176 is 70dl. I would make the bar fit what you have instead of making odd loops.

Yeah, I tried that combo it was right near maxed out and a 69dl would work better. I should take some pictures of bars and chains on it.

Utah, unfortunately.....
If it came with a D176 mount, what are you using for spacers to accommodate the D009?

Bailey's has a more universal bar, that can be used in a D176/K041/K095 application.

Is that the um50 mount? I was just about to take pictures for this until I realized the d176 didn't exactly match what came with the saw, the oil hole didn't really line up and it seemed a bit smaller must be a k095 mount that the um50 works for. Would be great if it's 72dl too.

A D176 is an 8mm wide alot and the D009 is 9.5mm. The Ko95 is 8.2 mm.

Dammit, I chipped a piece of the flywheel off with the flywheel puller, it was really on there. I ended up having to just heat the thing with the torch to get it to pop and then it came right off. The starter pawl springs lost their temper also, so I ordered a new flywheel direct from china 12-20 days ugh. I'm tempted to grind it by eyeball to get it balanced again, but on the other hand, I enjoy having hands, I think having both hands is one of the best thing ever.

It's way less than a fin and it seems people run missing a fin all the time. So I just ground it to clean it up so there'd be no chance of a crack propagating.

First time tuning it, hit 15k then smoke and stalled. I thought I killed it but it started back up and ran ok but I had to crank the idle way up. As I suspected the flywheel slipped and its now retarded the amount I advanced it. I took it apart and fixed it and torqued the flywheel nut to 17ftlbs instead of 13.

I'm not sure its actually faster with a 3/8 chain but it'll be easier to square file.

It looks like the last video with 325 chain got removed from youtube for a TOS violation somehow, so reposting it.

Watching back to back its noticeably faster though.

Some guy on ebay. I searched for start the Oregon part number would have been if it was of the shelf. Looks like it was made from a reel. Price was like 2 bucks more than I could buy the 78dl lgx at the homeless despot.
