What carb should I put on a Jonsered cs2152?

My neighbor and good friend has a Jonsered 2152 that has an off idle bog. We trimmed the limiter tabs and adjusted the carb, but no luck. We're both busy this time of year, and he'd rather just get a new carb than put a kit in it. His carb says C31 (the 1 is smaller and below the 3) on it. I haven't pulled it off the saw, so i don't know if there's more identifiers. I think I have narrowed that down to a Zama brand. A quick search shows that a Zama c3-el18b should work on this saw. Anyone mind giving me a quick yay or nay?

Looks like I can get a new one for $38 on Amazon. Any better options I should know about?

Thanks!

I have. I see that there are several options depending on the date of manufacture (assuming that's what the numbers in parenthesis after the model number represent). Should I find the DOM from his saw and go from there, or are they all compatible and there's a preferred carb to use?

Thanks, Dustin.

Sorry for the beginner questions, but am I safe to assume that any carb listed as an option for the 2152 or Husky 353 will work for this saw? Are they all interchangeable?

Yes same as a 357, 359, and 346 as well

Thanks again, my friend. By the way, I got to run that 7900 you shipped my way a little bit a few weeks ago. Still only have a few tanks through it, but it's a sweet saw. Nice to have an 80cc saw with a wrap ready to go when you need it. Also, after watching your video of that t4driller 346, I had to have the 350 conversion he listed last week. Only a tank through it so far, but holy smokes, what a runner. Definitely my new favorite small saw, at least until the snow flies and my fingers start getting cold... :)

I was wondering if you got a chance to run it yet. Sounds like I like it. Thst 350/46 has a 175 on it. I like the el 42 like Dustin had mentioned. It has worked great for me.

I guess I'm an outcast here but I prefer the EL-32. Unless it's a cant saw, the EL32 works the best to me and it's an OEM fitment on the newer ones. You have to modify the carb box to fit a Walbro 198/199 or an EL42. I did not care for the drivability of the larger carbs. They just didnt feel matched to the saw. The 32 has better spool up/throttle response and is just a cleaner running saw. Another point on the Jonsered is the limited airbox space. If you switch to a 198/199 or an el42 and use the 357 filter adapter, the filter hits the underside of the topcover.

If you happen to get one with the primer bulb outlet it's not a big deal. Just cap it. I have an EL 32 on my 346 and just tied a knot in it. image.jpg
