Given the choice I would rather not work harder carrying a heavy saw around if I don't need to. I appreciate light nice handling saws that's why I don't own only a 3120.

The weight difference between saw classes with modern saws in the real world is a total wash.

Match the tool to the task at hand and your good..the weight difference between a 362/562 372/461 or any other brand comparisons doesnt even matter for a firewood cutter.

Let me ask a different question then whats your pick 044 vs 461 I was trying to see if the 044 had a weight handling advantage of any significance if not I would much rather have the 461 myself for the extra torque

I am going to buy one of them and that is why I was asking about the weight as the 461 to me has the better engine hands down so I didn't know if there waqs any significant handling difference to get a 044 over the 461. In any case Im getting a 461(at some point looking for a deal on one) so consider my question answered.......

Whats a 461 weigh in comparison?

461 is basically the same weight as the 441c I posted on the 1st page of this thread. I could drain my 461 and pull the b & c, and put it on the scale but it will be within a oz or so of the 441c.

Medical journal says the average weight of a bowel movement is between 2-4 lbs (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less) depending on a few factors. Don't fret over a 1 lb difference of a 461 vs a 044. Listen to the other guys here, get a 461 and a 28" light weight bar and be done. If weight becomes a issue eat some bran muffins the night before......

Ya matt but you gotta love some of the tales about why a 440 is SOOOO much lighter and easier to use for 3 trees a month over using a 460/1...lol.

The only time I notice a saw feeling heavy no matter how big it is is when I'm moving them around in the shop. When I'm out in timber i really don't notice there weight bothering me one way or the other. I'm always using bigger saws then needed anyway. I like to get done and move on.

Not in the least..the only guys i could cut some slack are the ones workin some ugly terrain all day long that have a little age on them..its not even remotely an issue for a weekend warrior.
I wasn't allowed to learn to use a chainsaw until I could comfortably run a mac 250 super, I thought it was xmas when Dad got a husky 268. Now my son reckons anything bigger than a husky 550 is heavy, he doesn't get far with that argument.

I carried a 395 for a long time falling because I liked how it ran and oiled and never once at the end of the day did I whish my saw was lighter,it's the trees that make you tired not the saw.
It's always the trees fault.

I will say that a saw can feel heavier than it is,to me a 390xp is the most horrible feeling heavy saw there is.
362cm is close.
The 3/4 wrap 92cc saw I use now is very little heavier than a 044 and the same as a 460 and to me there both over rated.
In Stock form the 044 is under powered and the 461 is not.
