As far as the welding part, you got the job done and it looks clean, solid repair. Scarr is an awful high standard for anyone to hold themselves to imo, I appreciate your humbleness though Kevin, I have followed several of your builds over the yrs, I like the way you do things, always open and honest. Call a spade a spade.

Great welder ????
Not so sure about that, Shawn Carr is a great welder !
I just line everything up, close my eyes, hit the switch, count to 3 on thin stuff, 8 on thick stuff, and everything is fine !

Link ?

Some of these Husky threads are so wallered out that even the Bigger thread replacement systems wont work. This is a 5/16 tap to use these E-Z Lok thread inserts as repairs. Are the Big-Serts even larger ? Would you happen to be able to measure the OD of a M5 x 8 Big Sert repair sleeve ?

Don't let the pretty final products fool you, I'm even more of a grinder as I am a welder!

I’ve got nothing to gain or lose, as I don’t port saws for extra $$$. I do it when I have time and when I feel like it. I’d rather post up my mistakes in hopes that at least one guy won’t repeat it/them because they laughed at me while I struggled through something.

Box arrived, I finally have something that won’t booger up my wheel !!!!

Yeah, I’m doubting that anyone, including me, believes this. You are one talented and helpful guy, and I believe that it’s safe to speak for all members when I say that we’re grateful and much better off with you around here.

"Grinder and paint, makes me the welder I ain't"!
You too Joe, are a special guy ! Probably the most thoughtful and generous guy here. Don’t think that some of us don’t know how much help you freely give, and how much you’ve stretched yourself for these fine members over the last few years. You deserve better than what I can do to say thank you, but I’m going to be doing my best for ya !!!

Build is looking good Kevin. I’m with Angelo on the spinny thingamajig pics...saw mod porn. Need to get one of them someday.

Thank you, and yes, yes you do. You’re attention to details and methodical methods that you’ve shown us, will only serve you better as you grow your arsenal of items to make chips. I look forward to watching your first full, in house, port job. Until then, if I can help you, lemme know

I got a grinder, torches, plasma cutter to make me look like a fabricator.
Shep
Haha ! Me too Shep ! Mee too !!!

Flux core = splatter and craters
Mufflers, especially old used ones are difficult, at best, to weld on. I don’t see any blowthrough and I do see good, solid, overlapping welds. I’d be proud to run a muffler like that from you, it won’t melt plastics from pinholes, and wont rattle loose like screwed on deflectors. Nice work stitching flux cored wire !!!

Exactly! Trying to do the same. Except you can count yourself among those that set the example around here.

I really appreciate that Kevin but it’s yours to use as you please. I don’t need a spare, please keep it and put it to use. I was just going to throw it away.
