couple things fell off mine ,including the muffler and chain brake ,inner dog ,switches etc .

You can tap the outer part to a bigger thread. I had one like that. It didn't leak oil so I didn't bother with splitting it to tap it out all the way in the case half.

That's why it fell off ,the case split right there somehow.As did a chunk of the jug that holds the muffler .
