    Howdy,

Posting up some download links here for guides, articles, books, .pdf documents and powerpoints that I've compiled over the last year. I haven't read all of these yet, but I wanted to share them here so that others may get some use out of them.

Info included is climbing, rigging, equipment, residential removal, certification, safety, etc. There are even some certification study guides for those interested in opening their own tree service.

Feel free to add any info or documents to the thread. It can be like a mini tree-work library.

I'm using external file hosting so as not to clog up the forum. http://www.tinyupload.com/

Just click the links and it should take you direct to the location you want to save the file.

I've got some more to post up. It takes a little time to upload. The site can't handle the size of the files so I get them hosted elsewhere.

    Good reads for sure. :beer-toast1:

    Good uploads.
You're never too old to learn to climb.
I took my first climbing course, started climbing and got my arborist certification at 42 years old.... all in one year thanks to a excellent training company.

Still climbing and bombing timber at 61.

Best piece of equipment an arborist can buy is this slingshot, and accessories.

I'd check out treestuff.com as well. They are in Indianapolis, have good sales from time to time and offer a variety of kits. None of the kits really had the combo I wanted when starting out so I pieced it all together, but that may not be the case for you. They also ship quickly. Have ordered stuff in the afternoon and had it show up in Cinci the next day. Not always the case, but sometimes you get lucky. There are also some full time coupon codes to save you some money.

Wesspur is also a good site that has some complete kits. Sherril tree, who owns treestuff now, so things are mostly the same. GAP arborist supply. A few others depending on what you need/want at the time, may save money shopping around. Most everything I have came from treestuff though. Proximity and fast shipping is key to me.

Thanks man I'll have to check around. I looked at TreeStuff and the kits they had didn't have the saddle I like.

Depending on throwline and weight. Easily to the top of a 100 ft tree. I would highly recommend starting low and slow though. Take your time. Check everything twice. Seek professional guidance, be it on youtube(Climbing Arborist for example, lots of free info out there) or preferably otherwise in person. Search around some forums/pages and see if there's any recreational climbers in your area. First and foremost, SAFETY. Your life is on the line just climbing, let alone handling sharp object aloft. Dangerous business.

As far as throwline, you will want at least two weights and preferably two separate lines. They will get stuck in trees. Especially when starting out, but even with years of experience. Can usually climb to retrieve, but you will need another way to set a line. Go follow throwlineblues on Instagram to get a taste of what to look forwards to.

Yeah, like I said, none of the kits worked for me. I also don't feel they saved enough money for me to worry about it. Check your pms, sending you some valuable info.
