Ed Heard (EHP) recently bought a new MS462 and logging with it. ...
He's making daily reports on it and after its first day he claimed the 462 had no more power then his well broke in stock 361/362s.
In the interest of nipping this derail in the bud, I believe what Ed said was the opposite.

So with that said would these new computer saws benefit from a "tuner" of sorts that you see in the auto industry?
the only thing I can see that I would like to change is to raise the limiter rpm. I don't think changing the fuel value will help at all.

Your not derailing anything . Here's another good thread for a derail over at FF...."Considering port work on Stihl 362." Ed shows his educated knowledge on that one, really good read.Here the funny part...
362 = 60cc, and Ed says stock 462 > stock 362
562XP = 60cc, and Ed says 562XP > 462
Of course his 562XP is ported, and the 462 is still stock...
DOH! I probably just derailed us again, didn't I?
I mean they are rev limited at 13500What is the 462 limited too?
Also on a separate derail, what ever happened with the “stock appearing” race ready 461 you were building at this time last year?

Yeah lots of confusing model numbers trying to remember what was said while following a half dozen forums, 562 362 361 461 562 let alone which one is ported or stock. Lol.
Ed's been in the performance business a long time and he's a real down to earth type a guy who still makes a living cutting wood with a saw.Ed should hang out over here and stuff since this is where a lot of saw builders are.
Ed Heard (EHP) recently bought a new MS462 and logging with it. He says he won't port it until he feels the rings are maximum fully seated. This gives him a comparison to his other stock saws.

Been there did that, long ago,[emoji6] lots of history involved. Ed help me out several times, I even considered him a friend at one point, than some not so cool things went down, haven't spoken to him since. Hope he's doing well!Ed should hang out over here and stuff since this is where a lot of saw builders are.
It doesn't matter IMHO, it's still a 562 and it's still a 462.Which saw holds more fluids? Also, is that a new or old model 562? My understanding is they added a case bolt and some weight to the newer ones.
