Man you guys sure do have some fun.
Or a Stihl shop mechanic I feel the noose is closing on independent owner tuneupsGreat. We're gonna need a computer geek to help make our saws go faster.
Does Scott have a carbed 462? Sure would be nice to see the same recipe side by side standard vs. M-tronic.
I think he does.
Shall Ibet that Dan knows something that the rest of us don't??? Hahahaha
Its not a reset on the Mtronic V3
On Mtronic V1 and 2 there is only a reset option.
On Mtronic V3 you calibrate the saw.
But i think Scott should do a Calibration with the SDS and MDG1.
Using the calibration without a computer is like tuning a carb with the limiter caps on it.
Tuning with the software equals a complete carb tune with limiter caps off.

Contrary to what a lot of you guys think, I believe TM likes M Tron saws, and so do I!
I watch some of these guys tune their saw before the cut and I'm thinking my M Tron saw would be done with the cut already!

You think that the saw getting broke in through this process has affected times also?View attachment 153132
this is a list of the changes done to the saw, and how each change affected it.
Nice experimental data Scott... its interesting that some modifications took a step backwards? Also looks like the biggest gains were in timing advance and the final adjustment to the transfer ports. Keep up the great work, bud.View attachment 153132

Probly won’t gain but at least it’ll calm down the popcorn huh?from the first cut to the last cut maybe, but from cut to cut, no
I ran about 2 tanks through the saw bucking the logs we pulled out. about twice as many as was in the pics. I really need to back the timing off. that will be the first test in the new cant.
Looks great Scott the air injection seems good at keeping it clean
