Yes Dallas. I just finished. Snapped my rope 5 times. I had to put my truck in 4wd low to pull the base away from the top that was stuck in trees. My theory was correct, the rope just wasn't strong enough.
The video shows the line that I pulled the tree away from the base before it finally fell. I also had to cut up a couple of casualties. Lol
All done with my stock 026 with 18" bar and China carb. I used some Motul 800 at 40:1 that I had left over.
Tomorrow I'll go back and get the wood. Its cold here. I may cut that trunk down a little to get rid of the evidence. Lol

I used a rope that was given to me by a close friend who works at NE Rope, now called Tuffleburger or something like that.
I did a small job for him and refused to take any money. So he came back and gave me this special rope for pulling trees. Lol. I think it is 9/16 or a little bigger. Braided nylon with some plastic stuff in the core. It is strong, I probably over did it by looping the rope over a high crotch in a tree and then tying it to the base of the tree and to my truck. I guess I lifted the base almost off the ground and then skidded it until it hit the other trees. I did it many times until it finally ended up on the ground. Lol
Persistence.

I will take a few pics of the rope tomorrow. I will ask my friend if they warranty the rope. Lol
I am going to go to a marine consignment store and see what they have for 3/4 or 1" rope. The strongest they have.

Lol. I have been meaning to get a bigger rope for a while now. I pulled quite a few trees over with that rope. I get it high up in the tree then put a bite on it while I cut. More of a safety net. But I killed this rope today. Lol
Anyone know what kind of wood this is? Smells like horse sh^t hen I cut it, and was stringy. Not too heavy. Seemed very soft.

I cut it in the summer, but it was slightly stringy and the bark was a simular color along with the wood color being the same. It seemed to cut almost like white pine.

your buddy may have a bigger stronger rope there the one i have is 206 feet long

My 5/8" stable braid is 200'ish also.

Baby Uncle has some kinda pull line rope that is 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" that is crazy strong: about 150'.

He told me to stop buying rope. [emoji38][emoji38]
