I do nothing cosmetic, the employees generally "ride em hard and put em away wet". In addition to the repairs, I just tune them, muff mod, and pull the carb limiters. They seem to really appreciate that. As the one owner told me, "they seem to run stronger and last longer, everyone is happy".

Yes this guy I worked with drove a big fancy truck the first time we met to sell him a 200t. So I did the normal performance things but also spent the extra hour to make it look good. He is just starting his business and I’m sure he does not want to show up looking like he has crap equipment.

got a couple of freebies, sold 288 in 1992.288xp in 2000.
the 288 needed crankshaft bearings,seals & piston ring,rim sprocket,pump diaphragm,fuel filter,top cover,front handle,chain brake. no de-comp. fun to start.
the 288XP got total paint & rebuild.new piston, carb, crankshaft bearings, seals, fuel tank, front handle, chain brake, top cover, ignition, wires, air guide, starter, muffler.the top cover screw holes got welded drilled and re-threaded.new av mounts also,as the tank comes with none. no tank vent also.
i'm keeping this one for the restored collection i have. the 288 is a nice runner, going to cut firewood occasionally with it.

Anybody know about Roper chainsaws. Just got off the phone with an old farmer buddy that was cleaning out his shed. No pics yet but it sounds like it might be a freebee;) he said its not real big but remembered it would rattle ur fillings out while using it:):):) kind of excited:D

Meh? Depends on model, somewhat.
