This Ford was so bad I almost had to quit driving it. I’ve had 10 different Cummins trucks and never thought I was going to wreck. I had to slow down to 25 from 75 or 80 on the interstate.

The track bar if you dry steer on pavement would flex. That’s how I found the problem. If it did it just slightly rocking the wheel I knew it had to be the problem. It lasted a half mile the one time as changing lanes didn’t fix it. A dodge I had it figured out. Usually accelerating or changing lanes would stop it immediately.

My stock 17 does 16-18 average. It will get about 10-12 towing a cattle trailer with lids at 7-8k of cows plus the trailer weight.

In all the Cummins I had stock and modded I never got above 14 towing anything of any weight.
I get maybe 12 hauling 7-10k in an enclosed trailer. Like hearing all the claims of the twin turbo ford v6 when it came out. Guys were claiming high 20's. Dad had 3 of them and the dash always said 14.5

I almost got a grandpa truck with the IFS[emoji1787]

The worst I ever had was a 6.4 in the 09 Ford. 11-13 empty and 6-8 loaded.

I do enjoy the ride quality.

They do ride good. I almost got one but the price scares me on them. Seems they’re about $5-10k higher for about the same package.

I have an 02 4wd F350 crew cab with a 7.3L. I got 16mpg pulling a 30ft trlr loaded with furniture from Cheyene Wy to St. Louis, a couple years ago, as long as I kept it to 70mph or under. Over 70mph, the mileage dropped significantly.
The truck has 97,000 miles on it now. I've had to replace both front hubs and one injector. I bought it used in 05 with 23,000 miles on it. It's been a good truck. I'd hate to have to replace it.

You guys are making me feel a LOT better about how much gas I use in my 454.

I feel the same, hear of all the repair bills on friends trucks. Can buy another truck for less than their average repair. A guy I know has a 6.7 Ford, started out as a extra whistle noise, dealer said should be under warranty. Long story short, now at private shop, $13k for short block and upgrades.

It’s crazy what some repairs cost. I do need to strip and paint the bottom of my cattle trailer this year. It’s got surface rust and I want to stop it before it’s a problem. And maybe lifetime rubber floor for it but that stuff is pricey.

Wonder why it’s not under warranty?

Powertrain is 5 yrs. 100,000 miles... unless the dealer found something that caused the warranty to be denied?

I bought a little boat with a two-stroke. It’s got a small leak in one of the seams, so it needs sealed up, but I’m pretty happy overall for the $300 I spent on it. It even came with a trolling motor.

I just recently sold my 1990 GMC extended cab long bed with 350 gas engine with TH400 trans and 3.73 gears. Empty 9MPG. 4000lb camper in the bed and pulling a boat 9MPG. Crappy TBFI engine. Bought a new 2018 GMC 1500 with V6. Get high 20's MPG. No bells and whistles on the truck and it was still $30K.

Michigan.
1974 3/4 ton 4x4, engine modified 390 4 speed trans.
As it sets in the picture 12 MPG is what she was getting loaded.
About 18 empty.

Buddy just got a new ‘18 GMC 2500 Denali for $57k. The sticker was significantly higher than that.

I’ve never had any luck with any GM dealers. They never would negotiate on the price much if any and they have smaller rebates than Dodge and Ford

Had 97k on it. Tore it down to get pictures to turn in for warranty. Warranty was denied because of snow plow mount on truck.

I have a Ford, so yeah. (Notice the check engine light, bottom left...) and yes, it does average 11.2 MPG.

Have you hand calculated your fuel mileage to confirm that the 11.2mpg you are getting is actually correct? That's awful low unless you are pulling with it regularly. I have a 2017 F250 with the same motor and have averaged 17.7mpg over the 9,400 miles that it currently has on it. What code is the check engine light giving you?

I have hand calc’d It a couple of times. It is surprisingly accurate. Did a 450 mile trip and the miles registered 443 IIRC and it used pretty much the exact amount of fuel it said. I think I could coax a couple of more MPG out of it if I drove really slow, but I just drive regular and that’s what I get. BTW, it is leveled with 35’s, and I trimmed the air dam on the bottom of the bumper.

The Code is P-269f (I think), something to do with a turbo over boost... supposedly only a problem on the early 2015 trucks with the first of the large single turbos (440 HP trucks). Mine is a 2016.
