Here’s a dry piece of it split. Looks like a maple but splits worse than maple usually does.

I haven’t cut any of this one. It’s full of nails I’m afraid. I’m almost full on wood so I’ll be done unless someone calls for assistance

I would like to see the inside, split piece.
I cut a couple of huge red maples a year or so back. It was loaded with english ivy.
Bark does look similar.
