I've said it before, but I'll say it again....nice looking lineup of 64/73/7900's you got there. They are way clean compared to mine. I take pretty good care of my saws and they are still filthy....I cut a lot of pine so the sap gets everywhere. Keeping a saw clean with sap is a bish!
90% of what I cut is green oak and beech - those make huge chips and very little dust, so the saws stay fairly clean by themselves.

I agree, fir, spruce and pine make a mess on a saw, no easy way to get the sap off the saws surfaces.
Last time I cut down one of those I haven't even tried to clean the saw, I just kept using the saw and the sap wore off by itself eventually.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my lineup.
A long weekend is approaching, one over from this one, I think I'll be dismantling the remaining 1 1/2 oak logs I have, give each saw some run time - should make for a fun day.

Come to think of it, I should muffler mod my PS-7310 by then.

Just a thought on this sap/ pitch problem. I wonder if you sprayed the saw down with some pam cooking spray it would help?

I've done it on my ATV to help keep mud off and make clean up easier.

Anyone have a pic, or can you take one under the chain brake cover? Looking to see how the foam piece sits inside there. The cover I mean is the black one held down with one screw.
