Johnny B, I was wondering that too. Dont really make sense that they would come out that easy, but I believe the cylinder holds the rod more or less center when everything is together. If so, then it would be possible to slide the rod all the way to one side and replace the bearing rollers.
So to answer Steves question, EVERYWHERE, AND NOWHERE.:mad:
Lol! See im not crazy:D there has to be some logic behind it they r not telling us

Once you pull the cylinder, you can slide the rod on the crankshaft and the bearings will fall out, ask me how I know, and they are a pain to put back in.

Ok, the grey and black 3400 is now in fewer pieces than it has been in a month or so. Got the new crank seals in and resealed the case halves with Motoseal. Got it back to a "long block".
Gonna stop there and let the sealant do its thing til tomorrow evening. Got the block off gaskets in place so I can pressure/vac test.
Got a part # for crank seals of any you fellers want to take note of it. Seemed to work perfect.
NOT THE NATIONAL # WRITTEN ON THE TABLE COVER. THE ONE ON THE TCM BOX. Sorry, bad choice of location.

Those handles can make you say a few things you don't want to, but I've seen worst, like a stihl ms170.

Back together again
Passed pressure testing and vac with no problems. Had to redo the tank vent after the other one fell in the tank and the saw covered the work table with mix.
Need to go into the carb. I think dad was messing with the metering lever. It seems off a bit. Will get to that after I get back in town. Headed out in a few. 1117191644_HDR.jpg

Yep, metering lever was a little high. Diaphragm was also wrinkled up a bit and some garbage in there. Carb is off to the NAPA spa for a few days for a long soak while I'm out of town. Found a Diaphragm kit left over from when I had my own shop some 20 years ago. Should still work nicely.

I been ask so I'll show what I do to update the poulan 415 and 475 to the newer updated tanks and air filter set ups I like of the two.

425 445 505 used these updated set ups plus some other updates. I use the coil spring AV on upper and lower if I have them on hand over the rubber av.
Being no air injection on these I open the side tank hole up air.
Air filter cover has to be gutted so the new style air filter fits inside the cover.

Was ask over on chainsaw repair group facebook

This one is spoke for right now through Jan. Just going to hold it till after the crazy shipping season.
That way new owner may change his mind by then too.

Can someone tell me the bar mount pattern on my 3500? D176 fits but its not quite right, and I don't think its K095...or is it? I would love to find a 24" B&C to fit it.

It should be a AO41. So with a little bit of grinding for the oiler hole a K095 will work. I got one in the shop I'll take a pic of later.

I thought A041 was for the 3/8LP saws?

Hey Drew, I'll check when I get home from work but I'm pretty sure I have a 24" .325 B&C. I'm also fairly certain that series is a K041 mount, but its super easy to make a K095 work on a K041.

That would work for me if you had a .325 rim to go with it, but my 3500 wears 3/8 currently. The 20" bar I have on there is nice but I know it can handle more and since I have the 3700 I bought from you up for sale I'll be wanting another 24" to fill the gap

I thought A041 was for the 3/8LP saws?

It's made in many flavors.
So here is the K095 I modded.20191204_214123.jpg
Had to open the adjuster holes open a bit too.

I have a K095 24"3/8 I can make fot if you're interested too.
