Sounds like the green 2800 I picked up a while back. It was very cherry.

and he said none of the chains fit.. could not tell me what the pitch was.... thats always scary.....

With the 3/8s low pro set up. I bet the spur or rim was chewed to hell.
I may go check it out see if i can get it lower see what the piston looks like.....i been wanting one of these whats the 3500 around 60 cc?

I have a burnt top end 3500. Lots of room under that hood.

The 295's run good and are pretty light. Never compared it to it brother or the PP220.

I read somewhere that the 2800/295/4620 was originally a Jonsered design? Had a PP 4620 for awhile. It started easily and seemed to have decent power for what it was. Never did like the spongy AV or really cheap blow molded handles but you cant expect too much for the price. Sold it because I got a great deal on an Echo.

Never did like the spongy AV or really cheap blow molded handles but you cant expect too much for the price. Sold it because I got a great deal on an Echo.

The 2800 is a Poulan creation. The 295 and 4620 iirc are more of a Partner influence like some of the Jreds at the time.

Thanks, for some reason I was thinking the 2800 was a twin to the other two models. I've seen pics of Jred and Partner branded saws sold in Europe that had the same design and construction.

The Poulan 2800 and Craftsman 2.8 are the same, that's the only twins I know of.
