That black is the fuel line coming apart .That stuff will suck right through the filter and lodge in the screen believe it or not . I've already pressure washed the tank several times to get rid of the crud .If you don't get it out you will become a expert disassembling the carb .

Definitely wasn't from the fuel line. It was a combo of old fuel, 2stroke oil, and dirt.

While McCulloch fame comes from kart engines and chainsaws they made a complete line of other things many people don't know much about .I have a few blowers and weed wackers and they do a real good job,as good as anything made today .They turn up at yard saws for cheap and usually not much else is needed except a carb refresh .

I have an Eager Beaver blower that is probably 30 years old. It works great, only thing is it takes alot of pulls to start as it has no primer bulb. Also, the idle speed throttle stop likes to vibrate loose because only friction holds it in place. I also have a 287 weedeater that formerly ran great but is now showing signs of air leaks. Probably give that one a complete basic rebuild if I ever get really bored.

Quick question I have a mac 2300 watt generator with what looks like a mac 4-cycle on it lost spark. Is there any parts available for these or is it not worth messing with?

What's the model number ? I have the IPL's on most McCulloch's .Let me point out something .Sometimes items were sold under various names that were not made by say McCulloch .For example I have a 5,000 watt generator sold under the Homelite name but the only thing on it that is Homelite is the name, they didn't make it .

Yeah I know and haven't been able to locate an actual manufacturer like briggs on it. It has yellow cover on it and kill switch on motor. I'll get pictures and model. Has a mikuni carb on it.

This is the generator, I've had quite a few years always ran good but now it doesn't have spark. It has low oil shutdown but oils full. Could be bad oil switch, main on off switch or faulty ignition. Haven't looked real close yet. Going to build a slabbing trailer with jib crane and some cabinets up front for tool and saw storage along with a work area with cheap chain grinder and maybe select electrical tools. Was thinking this would be a fitting generator for my chainsaw slabbing trailer.

Only made from 1984-1986 looks like might have to cross reference the parts when I dig into it and see if anything made is a suitable replacement.

Just disconnect the low oil switch if you question it .They can stick .Had that happen once on a 7500 watt Honda at a construction job .

Some 250 models were thin ring and used 48691, many others were thick ring and used 55123.

According to the IPL's that I have, the 250 Super was also a thick ring version.

If you search flea bay they often have after market Cabers for old Macs .Probably as good as the originals ,at least on Stihls I never had a problem with them .
