Got a little clover and wheat planted for the wildlife today. The old JD 3020 slinging wheat and a McCormick MTX 135 running a 12’ Brillion cultipacker with seed boxes. It is hot and DUSTY for September 10.

Pesky cockle burs,and mint, we are eat up with them this year. Third time running the bush hog this year. Even the river bottom land is eat up with them.

So we finished mowing the CRP ground last week, and hadn't brought the tractor back to the house. Saturday, my grandfather (almost 87 years old.), wanted me to go 'rescue' the tractor first thing. So after 1-1/2 hours, we got it back to the house (needed a jump, we didn't bring ether and it wouldn't pop, etc.).

I mowed a little 50 x 200' patch behind the houses that needed it, and parked up the tractor. After lunch, I hear the tractor fire up, and next thing I know, the old man is mowing hay. I thought we were done, but apparently not...

He was in his glory. He mowed about 4 acres before he plugged it. I figured that was enough tractor time for him, so I told him to go park it.

Just heard a report from a local farm organization. 5 000 000 acres have not been harvested yet this year, with all the rain we have this week it is likely 40% of those unharvested crops will not make it to market. Some with swathed oats in standing water starting to sprout, standing crops in 3 or 4 inches of standing water losing grade. Not sure how the potato farmers are going to get the crop in from the mud.

$2 000 000 000 loss to the local economy if that last 50% doesn't make it to market...

It's got a door. It's just off getting new seals and glass(WHAT an assache!).
I hate brushhogging with it because the paint is so nice. I hope to get the cab knocked out. I have a new seat suspension,radio,speakers,floor mat and a console panel that was missing. All I need is an interior kit. The tractors worth it I think. Thanks for the compliments.

It's been downright heavenly here for about the last week and a half.
