I sent him an e-mail and asked how it cut with the chain on backwards. Saved the images as well in case he denies it.

He was a good sport and said he noticed it after taking the pictures but did not feel like redoing them.

I would love to get my hands on a 461 that needs a re-build, but not for $350 (or at least I thought it a high price) especially since in the description the sellerclearly states that the saw has very low compression.

But a few other opions would be welcome.

$350 for a runner in nice physical shape with low compression doesn't seem too awful bad to me. Almost six full days left on that one though. I'll bet it goes for significantly more than $350 by the time it ends. Put it on your watch list and keep an eye on it.
